Shioi Construction was awarded the contract to renovate and modernize the Kapaa branch of Kauai Community Federal Credit Union (KCFCU). With the unveiling of their new name and logo from KCFCU to Gather Federal Credit Union, the transformation included renovating and upgrading teller work stations and loan counselor's area; a new weather proof vestibule for the ATM & night drop; ADA accessible doors, sidewalks, entries, and parking aisles; storefront offices; a dramatic raised wood ceiling with concealed lighting; porcelain tile; carpet tile; AV monitors; and cabinetry. To modernize the building, Shioi remodeled an ADA compliant restroom; changed some of the back of house area flooring; upgraded the fire alarm system; replaced the HVAC unit; and installed energy efficient LED lighting. The contract also consisted of an exterior facelift, including repairing and transforming a flat roof by adding new trusses for a low sloped metal seam roof. The re-roof and AC system replacement will extend the life of the building for decades. Shioi also resurfaced the parking lot with ADA parking, sidewalks, and access aisles, as well as embellished the landscaping and drive-thru area. The added upgrades and technologies to the building gives employees and members the latest and greatest operation and aesthetic.
